Reaching New Heights! Tongyu Communications Wins China Communications Society Science and Technology Award

Recently, the project “Commercial-Grade 5G Base Station Communication Massive Array Antennas and RF Components,” jointly submitted by Tongyu Communications and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, was successfully selected for the 2025 China Institute of Communications (CIC) Science and Technology Award professional group review and honored with the Second Prize.


As China's authoritative academic organization in the information and communications field, the China Institute of Communications (CIC) has been dedicated to advancing technological progress in the industry since its establishment in 1978. The “China Institute of Communications Science and Technology Award” it established is the most prestigious accolade in this domain. Guided by the principle of “rewarding innovation and encouraging self-reliance,” it serves as the core benchmark for evaluating technological breakthroughs and the value of achievements within the industry. This prestigious honor not only signifies authoritative recognition of Tongyu Communication's technological prowess and collaborative innovation capabilities across industry, academia, and research, but also marks a significant stride in the company's advancement of 5G core technologies and commercialization efforts. As core components of 5G base stations, massive MIMO antennas and RF devices directly determine network signal coverage, transmission rates, and capacity limits. Tongyu Communications, in collaboration with top domestic universities including Xidian University, has achieved industry-level breakthroughs in three dimensions—antenna array design, RF integration technology, and multi-scenario adaptability—through its “Commercial-Grade 5G Base Station Communication Massive MIMO Antennas and RF Devices” project. — Leveraging accumulated expertise in Massive MIMO (Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology, it innovatively adopts a high-gain intelligent beamforming array architecture. By enhancing digital phase shifter control technology, it significantly improves 5G signal transmission stability in complex scenarios such as densely built-up urban areas and canyon terrains, demonstrating outstanding performance in countering signal attenuation; Overcoming challenges in RF component miniaturization and high-power integration, its developed AFU (Antenna-Filter-Unified) product stands as one of the world's first commercially available 5G integrated antenna feed systems. It substantially reduces module size and lowers energy consumption while passing reliability tests by international authoritative institutions, ensuring long-term stable operation; Tailored solutions have been developed for diverse scenarios, including the distinct frequency band requirements of China's three major telecom operators, dense urban coverage, and wide-area suburban coverage. These solutions fully align with the deployment needs of commercial 5G networks.



In the future landscape of industry-academia-research integration and independent innovation, this second-place award exemplifies the deep coupling of industry and research between Tongyu Communications and Xidian University. — providing a vital source of technological innovation from XDU's deep expertise in fundamental research areas like antenna theory and RF circuit design.
